Why does Andrรฉ Bazin rhyme with feminine?

Can you tell us about your career within the company and how you arrived at your current position?

"I started as a temporary worker in September 2012, then signed a fixed-term contract in November 2013 before being confirmed as a permanent contract. My development has been gradual: in 2021, I became a team leader, and in 2022, I took responsibility for the packaging workshop. Today, I manage between 30 and 41 people depending on the season and I have also taken over management of order preparation."

What did the company bring you in terms of training and skills? ?

โ€œI was lucky enough to take several training courses that allowed me to develop:

  • Managing change (2023-2024)
  • The role of team leader and animation (2022)
  • Quality, Safety and Communication Skills (2021)
Thanks to this training, I was able to develop my managerial skills and better understand my role as a manager.โ€

Describe to me the pleasure you get from working at Andrรฉ Bazin? In your own words

"I am an invested person, and what I like above all is the relationships. I learn every day in my job, and that's what motivates me. I like working in a team and participating in different missions, such as recruitment or promoting our profession to young people in colleges and at trade fairs."

How do you see yourself evolving in the coming years?

"(Laughs) Factory manager, why not! More seriously, I still see myself at Andrรฉ Bazin, perhaps with more responsibilities. I like challenges and I am ready to seize new opportunities."

What were the main challenges in taking on a position of responsibility?

โ€œThe biggest challenge is human management: adapting to each personโ€™s personalities and characters. I evolved in my own workshop, which was not easy at the beginning. I had to take a step back, establish fair professional relationships and make sure to treat everyone fairly. Fairness is a key value for me.โ€

How do you see the place of women in the agri-food industry, particularly in positions of responsibility?

"For me, there is no difference between a man and a woman in work. We have the same abilities, and I would even say that women are often more organized and caring! (Laughs)"

Have you encountered any difficulties as a woman in a predominantly male position?

โ€œNot at all. In my workshop, we are mainly women. And when I joined the team of managers, composed mainly of men, I was very well received. I always felt mutual support and listening.โ€

Have you ever been confronted with prejudices or stereotypes related to your gender?

โ€œNo, never.โ€

Do you think the food industry is moving towards more equality?

"Yes, and in my career at Andrรฉ Bazin, I never felt any difference in treatment between men and women, whatever the position."

How would you describe your management style?

"I advocate fair and equitable management. Regardless of position, seniority or gender, everyone is treated the same."

What advice would you give to women who want to move up to a position of responsibility?

"Let them go for it! With motivation, anything is possible. Above all, we must not put up barriers for ourselves just because we are women. And then, unconsciously, we may want to prove our worth even more, because there are fewer of us in these positions."
