17Th YEAR OF IFS CERTIFICATION FOR ANDRÉ BAZIN

Published on February 22, 2023

In 2023, for the 17th consecutive year, André Bazin will renew its IFS Food certification.

IFS Food in a few words:

"IFS Food is a recognized reference by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) for the audit of agri-food industry quality and safety processes and products.
It relates to food processing or loose packaging companies.

IFS Food applies when products are 'processed' or when  product contamination risks exist at the time of primary packaging.  The IFS Food reference is important for all agri-food companies, especially those producing private label products, because there are many requirements related to compliance with the terms of reference.  It is a recognition of the production and marketing efforts made for the safety and quality of brands." »*

IFS Food certification since 2007:

Under the leadership of CEO Philippe Wagner, André Bazin embarked on a production reorganization in the 2000s so as to better respond to the manufacturers requirements.

No effort was spared for obtaining the IFS Food certification, so that the company's customers were guaranteed compliance with the demanding quality and food safety standards.

Since then, André Bazin is certified IFS Food every year, through the continuous investments made by its teams in the remodelling of production tools , infrastructure, flow optimisation, or even innovation.

Food Safety Culture in the DNA of André Bazin:

Compliance with IFS Food standards is required for certification renewal.  For this, Claire Dupain, Quality, Safety, and Environment Manager at André Bazin, and her Quality Department give their best every day so as to keep high standards at each stage, from raw material reception to end products dispatch .  "Our vision today is 100% quality instead of 0% defect,” Claire Dupain explains.  "We are in constant communication with the production teams, working together to find solutions to challenges on the ground."

These efforts are also reflected in certifying courses, like CléA (Certificate of Knowledge and Professional Skills) for production operators or specific CQP (Certificate of Professional Qualification) for machine operators, department and team leaders, improving both their skills and working conditions, and a better approach to food safety.

This proactive approach helps  the entire staff to be aware of the Food Safety Culture, something that has been observed during the last IFS Food.

Furthermore, the 12 million euros investments used for the expansion of the factory over 3 years, have improved the operators working conditions, among other things.

This continuous improvement work makes us proud to offer to our customers safely and transparent manufactured products.
